have i mentioned that when we were in grand cayman at 7 mile beach, we got pelted? i mean, from the port, we took a taxi to this beach that is supposed to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with some of the best snorkeling ever. we were just getting ready to get in the water. it starts raining. then pouring. so we run for cover under this tree. or many trees. under the trees, its filthy dirty. and there were rats. big ones! so in the midst of it all, we decide to take off down the beach for this covered area. everything was sopping wet, by the time we got there. i mean drenched. like we're lucky that most things were in plastic bags, or else cameras would've been ruined. and - i'd like the record to show, that it wasn't miss 18 bottles of sunscreen who shared the baggies - it was ME! i had the genius idea to bring lots of extra bags on the trip. everything liquid got its own special bag, first of all, cause i hate leaks. that's not being anything more than an experienced traveler who's had one too many leaks. and i stuck about 10 extra bags in my suitcase. see - somethings i was prepared with. so we're running down the beach. it felt like we were being sandblasted with a power hose at close range. my dad was using his umbrella to defend himself. i'm not sure if that thing was busted or not, but when i looked back at him, it looked like it was! david put on his snorkel mask. that's one thing i wish i would've thought of, cause my contacts were so close to falling out. it was terrible! but we survived. and 5 hours later when we got back on the ship, we were only mildly damp still. boy did it feel good to put on clean clothes after my shower that day!
and i must say - i thought Cozumel had better snorkeling. we went to chankanaab national park.
